Petroleum technology (Petec) ensures that Equinor matures and manages its hydrocarbon resources in a profitable, competitive and safe manner. Petec covers all geology, geophysics, petrophysics, reservoir- and production technology activities during early phase, field development, production phase, abandonment, and portfolio transactions. Petec resources are also involved in technology development and implementation. This year we have our two core business areas recruiting from the disciplines referred to below:

Technology, Projects and Drilling (TPD) maintains a global responsibility for developing and implementing new technological solutions.

Development and Production Norway (DPN) maintains responsibility for running all operations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Job Description

  • Our summer interns will work on multiple tasks throughout the business. Work tasks may vary according to your competence profile, assignment and business needs. You will be involved in exciting and challenging tasks relating to, but not limited to:
  • Digitalisation processes
  • Mathematical modelling and reservoir simulation
  • Log interpretation and rock properties
  • Geological modelling
  • Well operations
  • Database architecture and design
  • Production optimisation and prognoses
  • Seismic interpretation and reservoir simulation/monitoring
  • Data analytics
  • Automation

Relevant education:

  • Geology; Geophysics; Petrophysics; Reservoir technology; Production technology; Chemical engineering; Mathematics; Statistics; Physics or another scientific line of university study
  • Additional education in areas such as: Programming, Information technology, Logistics, Informatics, Economics and management

Qualifications

  • No more than 1 year of full time relevant experience (please note research under a PhD is not considered relevant experience)
  • Have completed at least 2 years of relevant bachelor studies by the time of the commencement of the internship and are currently enrolled in a relevant study programme
  • Fluent in English
  • International work and/or study experience is an advantage
  • Extracurricular activities and/or voluntary work is an advantage
